Blogs

If you don't have a blog of your own and are interested in getting started, check out www.wordpress.com. They provide free blog software and you can get started just minutes from now.

I remember the day when I didn't know what blogging was (I should, it was no more than a year ago) so if you are a little foggy on this it really is quite simple.

I first like to explain with out the "web lingo" to get across the nuts and bolts.

Basically a blog is nothing more than your own personal bulletin board.

Now you want to make this bulletin board as interesting as possible so people actually read it right?

Here are some tips for promoting effectively with a bulletin b... I mean a blog...

1) Who is your audience. What sort of people are coming to your blog? Why are they there, and what are they searching for? Make sure to define your target audience and figure out what that target audience wants to read about. Write in a manner and tone that corresponds with what you are selling.

2) Focus. Rather than passively promoting a huge list of programs all at once, you'll be much better off to promote just a select few programs very aggressively. This will allow you to maintain the trust of your readers and keep them coming back for more. The last thing you want to do is send your list too many emails that annoy them and force them to unsubscribe.

3) Offer gifts. Treat your readers well, and they'll keep coming back. You can offer my free PDF reports, sample chapters and videos as a way of keeping your readers interested.

4) Use articles. You'll find articles on training, nutrition, supplementation, injuries and motivation to use along with your own unique posts in the articles database. This ever expanding database is yours to use to promote the program and take some of the heat off of you to come up with fresh content month after month.

5) Use audio AND text. Just ask yourself what comes across as more enjoyable to visit; a blog that is all text or a blog that has some fun audio posts as well. Check out www.hipcast.com for an easy way to make blog posts using audio.

6) Use images. Copy and save allimages found on the site to use throughout your blog entries to add credibility.

7) Say it. Give both positive AND negative reviews on your blog. You'll get way more visitors and return readers if you're making some controversial remarks.
If you have worked in any company for longer than a few months or mamnaged a few people you know that there is what you want to say, and what you should say and hopefully do say (most of the time). When writing on your blog, say what's on your mind! Better to piss off a few people while capturing the interest and attention of everyone else... because subtle is risky.
